Pre-Matriculation Coaching (PMC) classes have been running since 2012 in government and private schools for classes VI to X in leasehold areas of Jamadoba and Sijua unit. The programme started with 1,025 students at 11 centres in the year 2011-12, especially for students who could not sustain or afford private tuition classes to improve their studies. The classes are conducted in two parts, preparatory classes for students in classes VI to VII and coaching classes for classes VIII to X.
The programme has been a boon for students, with a definite improvement observed in their studies, leading to good academic scores. In the last year (FY22), the programme enrolled 1548 students across nine centres. The PMC Classes were held at nine centres in Jamadoba and Sijua, covering a total of 1548 students. The matriculation exam was taken by 344 students, with 218 securing the first division (94 with distinction), 119 securing the second division, and 7 securing the third division. Remarkably, all 344 students cleared their board exams successfully.
